MALVERN AUDIO RESEARCH, AIR AUDIO AND LOWTHER TO PRESENT CLASSIC VOIGHT HORNS AT NORTH WEST AUDIO SHOW 2026

Lowther loudspeakers will form part of a collaborative demonstration from Malvern Audio Research and Air Audio (Distribution) at the North West Audio Show 2026, with the system centred around a recreation of the famous 4ft Voight Horn design originally developed in the late 1920s.

The system will combine Malvern Audio Research valve amplification and DHT phono stages with Air Audio products including the TTHub turntable and Connected Fidelity cables and power distribution products.

The highlight of the room will be the Voight Horn loudspeakers from Lowther, a design regarded as one of the foundations of horn loudspeaker development. According to the exhibitors, this will be the first time these loudspeakers have been demonstrated publicly in the UK in this form.

Originally conceived in the late 1920s, the large scale 4ft Voight Horn design remains closely associated with Lowther drive units and early British horn loudspeaker engineering. The recreated loudspeakers are intended as a statement system and a demonstration of one of the key historical designs that influenced many later horn loudspeaker concepts.

Visitors to the North West Audio Show 2026 will be able to hear the full system throughout the weekend at De Vere Cranage Estate.
