Great HiFi always starts with great music, and this year’s North West Audio Show once again brings live performances to Cranage across the weekend.
Taking place in the Tempus Bar Courtyard, the live music sessions offer visitors the chance to step away from the demo rooms for a while, grab a drink, relax and enjoy music in its most natural form. Whether you are comparing systems upstairs or simply soaking up the atmosphere of the weekend, the live performances have become an important part of the NWAS experience.
LUCY MAYHEW LIVE AT NWAS
Performing on Saturday at 13:00, Lucy Mayhew brings her distinctive blend of acoustic songwriting and reimagined classics to the show.
The Wirral based singer songwriter and self taught guitarist has spent more than a decade performing across the North West and beyond, building a strong following through festival appearances, live events and regular support from BBC Introducing. Her music has drawn comparisons with artists including Laura Marling, Phoebe Bridgers and Sam Fender.
Lucy’s sets combine original material with carefully chosen covers ranging from Paul Weller and Portishead to Arctic Monkeys, Fleetwood Mac and The Kinks, all filtered through her own stripped back acoustic style.
Visitors can catch Lucy live in the Tempus Bar Courtyard on Saturday afternoon.
OLLY FLAVELL LIVE ON SUNDAY
On Sunday at 13:00, Olly Flavell takes to the stage with a relaxed acoustic set covering favourites from across the decades.
Known for his easy going performance style and broad repertoire, Olly performs music spanning the 70s through to the 2010s, blending classic sing along tracks with modern acoustic favourites. Whether performing at weddings, private events or intimate gatherings, he has developed a reputation for creating the perfect atmosphere wherever he plays.
His Sunday afternoon session promises to provide the ideal soundtrack to another busy day at Cranage.
As always with NWAS, the live music is about more than entertainment alone. It is a reminder of why we all care about HiFi in the first place. Music, atmosphere, emotion and shared experience remain at the heart of the hobby, and the Tempus Courtyard performances have become one of the weekend’s most enjoyable traditions.
